Ulajh BO collection Day 2: Janhvi Kapoor film sees marginal growth; Gulshan Devaiah reacts

Janhvi Kapoor’s Ulajh and Ajay Devgn’s Auron Main Kahan Dum Tha have fared poorly at the box office. Ulajh made Rs 1.7 crores on day two. It is only a marginal increase from the first day. Janhvi Kapoor played the role of a IFS officer in this espionage drama loaded with action. While the movie impressed critics in bits and parts, the convoluted screenplay and done to death theme of India and Pakistan left the audience bored. The cast of Ulajh is quite good with acting talents like Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Meiyang Chang, and Adil Hussain.

Viewers are also wondering why Indian filmmakers are so obsessed with the ISI. From 2023 there is a slew of movies around Pakistan and its agents. Gadar 2, Pathaan, Fighter to name a few. Kalki 2898 AD is doing better than these two films at the box office. The bookings are more for the Prabhas starrer. Ulajh has made over Rs3.5 crores globally. The film is made on a budget of Rs 50 crores. There are many who feel it would have done well on OTT. This is the second disappointment for Janhvi Kapoor after Mr and Mrs Mahi. The lean phase of Bollywood continues much to the disappointment of fans. 

Her co-star Adil Hussain who worked with Sridevi in English Vinglish said that she has spontaneity that is needed to be an actor. He said that Janhvi Kapoor has grown up in a household where everyone is associated with films. He said so she is very comfortable. He said he had to battle a lot of personal inhibitions in the course of his journey as an actor. He told a leading news channel, “Janhvi, even after knowing the advantage, works really hard on her craft. And that’s the quality of an artiste. It’s not easy to stay the course and be so dedicated. It’s important what your attitude is, and she has proved that. And I saw that in whatever time we spent together.”
