Twinkle Khanna is making a comeback with her latest column in The Times of India, diving into topics ranging from noise pollution to waterlogging and those pesky potholes. In her signature witty manner, Twinkle, known for her amusing Instagram captions, puts the spotlight on Bollywood's eternal 'Dream Girl' — Hema Malini. She playfully compares the legendary actress to her own mother, the seasoned star Dimple Kapadia. Twinkle humorously shared how a recent water purifier drip triggered thoughts of Hema ji, quipping, "No one in the country is more interested in giving India clean water than Hema ji."
She wrote, “After endorsing water purifiers for years, she is now performing a dance ballet on the shores of the Ganga to spread a message to keep our rivers clean. But will our citizens listen to her appeal, or will it be a case of you can lead a horse to the jal (water), but you can’t make him drink?”
Twinkle shared how she recently had a chat with her mom, the actress Dimple Kapadia, about her annoyances, such as folks littering on the streets and how some "fellow Indians" don't seem to mind spitting out paan on the street corners.
Twinkle vented to Dimple about the nation's absence of 'clean roads, water, air, or even basic harmony,' to which Dimple Kapadia humorously remarked that 'there was less noise pollution during the Ganpati processions than what she was creating at that moment.'Twinkle continued, “This is not the first time I have wished that Hema Malini was my mother instead. Not only could we discuss clean water at length, but I would also receive a lifetime supply of free water purifiers.”
Twinkle Khanna is Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna's daughter. She has a sister named Rinke Khanna. Hema Malini, who is married to Dharmendra, has two daughters – Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Dharmendra was previously married to Prakash Kaur.
