Sunny Deol, Dimple Kapadia's co-star Sujata Mehta sheds light on their bond; says, 'Destined to be together'

Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia’s alleged affair fascinated many as the two are such reclusive people. It was said that they dated for 11 long years before the love fizzled out. However, in 2017, a pic of the two holding hands at a London Metro Station went viral. Actress Sujata Mehta was quite well known in the 1980s. She had done a number of movies like Pratighaat, Yateem, Gunaah, Jung and so on. She spoke about her co-stars like Mithun Chakraborty and Sunny Deol in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. She said that Dimple Kapadia and Sunny Deol had lovely chemistry in Gunaah, and both were friends with her. 

Though she did not directly say that Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia were dating, she said that “there was nothing to hide since we were working together”. She was quoted as saying, “In our profession, I feel everything is very professional. Sab log apna kaam karte hai, nikalte hai. Gunaah ke set pe jab bhi hum log shoot pe gaye, they had a lovely chemistry on-screen and off-screen. They were destined to be together.” The two were high on success in the 1980s. Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia worked together for the first time in Manzil Manzil.

Sunny Deol was married in 1984 with Pooja, who is a British national of Indian origin. In 1983, Betaab released in theatres. There were rumours of Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh dating when the movie was under production. Later, Amrita had also commented on the kind of relationship Dimple shared with Sunny Deol. She said, “I think she's having her cake and eating it too. She's got nothing to lose and most importantly, she's got her guy where she wants him. So what if it's not heading anywhere? When you've already lived a life, you are happy with a relationship that's at status quo.” 

Both the women were seen at the special screening of Gadar 2 last year. Sunny Deol got a huge hit at the box office after ages. Their presence made it to the headlines.
