International Dance Day was introduced in 1982 by International Dance Council. The main purpose of this event is to attract people's attention towards this particular art form. Every year, the president of CID sends an official message of Dance Day in every country. Be it Eijaz Khan, Binny Sharma, Neha Marda or Shakti Mohan and Kunwar Amarjeet Singh, so many dancers have found their way into acting. We've even had dancers move into Bollywood and grab films like Salman Yusuf Khan, Lauren Gottlieb and Punit Pathak who were seen in ABCD.
On this occasion we catch up with a few of our tele stars that have made their way from dancing to acting.
Rithvik Dhanjani: Well I don't consider my self as a dancer who had turned actor. It was my acting which gave me a chance in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa. Well I did participate in Dance India Dance before taking acting as my profession but was kicked. Thus from there I started taking my dance seriously.
Dancing has always been my hobby. I use to do shows in school and collage with my teachers and friends. We danced a lot but professionally I haven't learn any form. Even till date I go to pub and feel high not with the glass but when I'm on the dance floor. Dancing makes me feel high. Still on this day I would like to tell people that those who love dance; take it seriously as it you are doing for your living.
Sanjeeda Shaikh: Dancing is my passion and life. I'm the happiest person when I'm dancing. I would say that dancing has been a turning point in my life. After winning Nach Baliye, people realized that I can dance too. Also this art form helps me in my acting career.
I can say that dancing is a best stress buster and every body should dance. So on this special day I would like to say that Dance and stay fit and be happy'.
Neil Bhatt: I'm a dancer and by accident I also became a choreographer and now this has helped me to become a good actor too. Dancing is one form which brings all the emotions out from you as it has done with me.
When I was in collage, I use to dance for 10 hours at a stretch and I still do take out time to rehearse and learn new forms of dances. On International Dance Day I would like to tell everyone that you should dance your way to keep life healthy and happy.
Roopal Tyagi: Dancing for me will always be my passion and I would never leave that in my life. It's a best form of exercise and stress buster after a hectic shooting schedule. Though for me acting is a better profession but have to admit that because of dance, I've learnt acting.
In acting also dance is involved like a sequence in the show or an event. I always make sure that I attain the events which have dance involved. On this special day I would like to tell everyone that after your work, go home and dance. Even I'm going to do the same. Actually I danced last night too.
