Triptii Dimri, who stars in the upcoming film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, recently found herself at the center of social media backlash following the release of her new song, Mere Mehboob. The dance number, which premiered on September 23, features a sensual routine that some viewers have labelled as uncomfortable and cringe-worthy, particularly criticizing a specific move where Triptii performs pelvic thrusts while lying on the floor. While the catchy beats of the song have many tapping along, the choreography has drawn mixed reactions, with many expressing their discomfort.

Addressing the criticism for the first time in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Triptii admitted that she hadn’t anticipated such a negative response from the audience. When asked if she felt uncomfortable while performing the controversial hook step, the Animal actress explained, “Not really. As an actor, I’m trying to do different things. Initially, I thought that to be an actor, you only need to act. But over time, I realized you need to know more, how to walk, how to dance, and more. So, I have to try everything.”

She went on to explain that this was her first dance number, and while the response wasn’t what she expected, it hasn’t deterred her from experimenting with different roles. “It’s happened to everyone. There will always be things people don’t like, but that doesn’t mean you stop trying or experimenting. You can’t let that hold you back. If you constantly think about how people will react, you won’t be true to what you’re doing.”
