The Trial: Kajol opens up on her role; says, “every women would have done the same thing”

Kajol is on a roll as after her massiveOTT anniversary with Lust Stories 2, the actress is all set for yet another major project titled’The Trial - Pyaar Kanoon Dhokha’ which will be streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.

The trailer of the show which is a Hindi adaptation of the popular legal drama ‘The Good Wife’ was launched today and has been gaining immense popularity already. Kajol will be seen playing a powerful lawyer who is entangled in relationship problems, family and the lawsuit.

During the press conference of the trailer launch Kajol opened up about her role in the show and how she treated it. 

She said, “It is definitely an involved character but I think every woman identifies with it. You ask any woman out there, they have imagined that scenario, like having a thought that if it ever happened to you ‘how would you react to it. Secondly I am an actor and I will do it to the best of my ability. Noyonika’s character is better in a web series because it has an arc and take it in a beautiful arc from where she started and where she ends up eventually.”

She further addded,

 “Also one thing I love about Noyokika is that women will resonate with her. If you put them in a situation of choosing the right and wrong and if the wrong involves her kids or someone she loves the most, she will try to find out the right within that wrong. And the show is about that. Its about gray.”

The series also has an ensemble cast of Sheeba Chaddha, Jisshu Sengupta, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait and Gaurav Pandey in pivotal roles. It will stream on Disney plus Hotstar from 14th July.
