RSVP comes on board to produce "Kedarnath" directed by Abhishek Kapoor...

For a long time now, speculations about "Kedarnath" have been making rounds. The film that marks the debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan has been running into a lot of controversies.

Initially, the film was supposed to be produced by Bhushan Kumar under his T-series banner along with Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures.

But, in sudden turn of events, both the production houses backed out and the film had to be kept on hold.

Later, Producer Prernaa Arora came ahead and took charge and decided to release the film under her production house KriArj Entertainment.

However, due to various creative differences between director Abhishek Kapoor and Prernaa, the latter backed out and the film was left sinking.

Now, the film has received it's anchor in the form of Producer Ronnie Screwvala who has came out as a savior to save Abhishek's sinking ship. He has taken charge of the film and will be releasing it under his production house RSVP.

Kedarnath is an eternal love story set in the backdrop of the flash floods that wrecked the temple town in the June of 2013. It is a potent combination of love and religion, passion and spirituality. The floods that took the lives of over a hundred thousand people is a powerful back drop for this epic love story.

Speaking about his union with the film, Ronnie Screwvala says, "It's a great love story set against the backdrop of a very powerful True life event that affected all of us with the floods in 2013. It completely matches our vision of great stories that need to be told and we can't wait to bring this story to the audiences early next year."

"'After Kai Po Che', 'Kedarnath' will be our next venture together. Ronnie is an exemplary leader and I feel invigorated that he has stepped in and reinforced his faith in me. Just being in the room with Ronnie is a privilege, making a movie with him is an honour", says Abhishek kapoor of the new collaboration.

The first schedule for 'Kedarnath', starring Sushant Singh Rajput and debutante Sara Ali Khan has already been completed in the mountainous region of Uttarakhand. The shoot of the film is all set to resume later this month in Mumbai.
