Sunjay Kapur’s sister reveals Karisma Kapoor being in touch with Priya Sachdev: 'We have a good relation…'

Following the death of her ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, Karisma Kapoor has been the focus of media attention regarding her personal life and related matters. Now, Sunjay Kapur's sister, Mandhira, has spoken fondly of Karisma, emphasizing her devotion to her children, Samaira and Kiaan, during difficult times.

Sunjay Kapur, a prominent business leader and chairman of Sona Comstar, passed away in June at 53 due to a cardiac arrest. His death has sparked legal disputes concerning the family business. Amidst these boardroom battles and inheritance claims, Mandhira acknowledged Karisma's role as a parent.

In a recent interview, Mandhira told NDTV, “She [Karisma] is a mother. She is a very good mother, I have to give her that. She has done a very good job of letting the family be one, which is…you know..I commend her in that. I think the kids have been close, and they’ve had a great relationship. Hopefully somehow, we can carry that on and let the family be one again because she is looking out for her kids like any mother would, and that’s what she is doing."

When questioned about her current relationship with Karisma, Mandhira responded, “Yes, of course. I am sure she is in touch with Priya (Sunjay’s widow Priya Sachdev Kapur) too. The fact is we’ve all had a good relationship. The kids have been coming to see mom. We are all in touch. This is not meant to be a family feud."

Mandhira also affirmed that her late brother's children with Karisma will always be considered members of the Kapur family. In an interview with India Today, she stated, “My father and mother have been obsessed with their grandchildren. Samaira and Kiaan are always a big part of this family. We are very proud of them and have a lot of love for them. Dad used to dote on them, my mom dotes on them. They are a part of our family and will always be, there’s no question about it. My brother doted on them. They come over, they have come and met mom. We are all together."

Sunjay's mother, Rani Kapur, has asserted her claim as the rightful heir to her late husband Surinder Kapur's business, including control of Sona Comstar. She also alleged she was pressured into signing documents that placed her daughter-in-law Priya Sachdev Kapur on the company board. The company has since issued a cease-and-desist notice, stating she has not held any role since 2019.
