Sumbul Touqeer Khan on her journey into the world of 'Kavya,' calls her character different from 'Imlie'

Lauded for her exceptional performance in Star Plus' show 'Imlie,' Sumbul Touqeer Khan is all set to make a comeback on Television with Sony TV's show Kavya. Sumbul, who is set to portray an IAS officer in the show, recently engaged in an exclusive conversation with us, shedding light on her experiences with the show, her character preparations, and more.

How has your experience been shooting for 'Kavya'?

I've been thoroughly enjoying my time shooting for 'Kavya.' This character is a departure from my previous role as Imlie, presenting a fresh challenge. Getting into the skin of a character takes time and requires extensive research. It's undeniably demanding, but I'm putting in the effort, and I believe it will all come together eventually. Right now, I'm focused on working hard to do justice to the role.

What was your initial reaction when the show was offered to you?

 Initially, I thought it was a challenging and demanding role, which piqued my interest. When a job poses a challenge, it adds excitement and a touch of apprehension. You question if you'll be able to pull it off. That's exactly what I felt. I knew it would be a fun and unique experience, so I decided to take it up.

How did you prepare for your character?

Preparing for this character involved working on my Hindi, which needed to be impeccable. Given that IAS officers are known for their intelligence and the job is intricate, I've been putting in a lot of effort to improve my language skills. My English also had to be polished, and I've been working diligently on that front as well.

Tell us about your bond with Mishkat? 

Since Mishkat and I have been shooting together almost everyday now, I have fun. Your co actor needs to supportive and you need to have a good understanding too, fir chahe wo Mishkat ho ya Anuj ho. Both my costars are very patient. Slowly and steadily, our understanding is developing. Both Anuj and Mishkat are very supportive, they are very sweet guys.
