'Stree 2' teaser out: Rajkummar Rao & Shraddha Kapoor are back in the spooky town with chills & thrills

Fans of the 2018 hit film 'Stree' have a reason to celebrate as Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan have unveiled the teaser for its much-awaited sequel, 'Stree 2'. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the teaser hints at an exciting storyline with the original cast, including Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, back in action.

The teaser, which first appeared with the theatrical release of 'Munjya', is now available online, creating a buzz among audiences. The clip opens with the words "The legend is back" flashing on the screen, followed by Rajkummar Rao's excited declaration, "Yeh toh aa gai sach mein". The teaser then showcases a montage of thrilling moments filled with energetic music, joyous gatherings with friends, and spine-chilling suspense.

In the teaser, Shraddha Kapoor is seen in two different avatars, suggesting a deeper dive into her character's story and her evolving relationship with Rajkummar's character. The clip also includes a scene where Rajkummar confronts the ghost once again with his charming way of saying 'please'.

The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, promising a return to the spooky yet humorous world where the ghostly Stree continues to scare men. 'Stree 2' is set to release on August 15, 2024, coinciding with Independence Day, offering a perfect mix of chills and laughs for the holiday.

This release will see 'Stree 2' competing at the box office with Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' and John Abraham's 'Vedaa'. The original 'Stree' was set in the fictional town of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, revolving around the legend of a female spirit who abducts men during an annual festival, leaving behind only their clothes. The townspeople used the phrase "O Stree, Kal Aana" ("Oh woman, come tomorrow") to keep her away.

'Stree' was a major success in 2018, earning Rs 129.90 crore in India. The anticipation for 'Stree 2' is high, as Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe has become a beloved franchise.
