Actress Sonam Kapoor is thrilled to step in front of the camera for the first time since welcoming her son, Vayu. Having taken a break from filming after her pregnancy, Sonam is excited to dive back into her acting career. Her last on-screen appearance was in the 2023 film Blind, which was completed before her maternity leave. Now, she is ready to embark on her new project with renewed enthusiasm.
In a recent statement, Sonam shared her anticipation about resuming work. She said, “I’m super excited to face the camera again post-my pregnancy. I love being an actor, and I love living so many interesting characters through my profession.” Her passion for acting and exploring diverse roles has kept her motivated. Sonam's excitement for her upcoming project is palpable, as she looks forward to the fresh challenges it will bring.
Sonam revealed that her new project is set to begin filming in early 2025. Although she remains tight-lipped about the specifics, she hinted that it will be a major project. “It’s a big project. That’s all I can say right now,” Sonam mentioned. While details are still under wraps, reports suggest that it will be a streaming venture on a global platform.
Sonam and her husband Anand Ahuja recently celebrated their son Vayu’s second birthday on August 20, 2024. The actress took to Instagram to share a touching message for her son. “My baby turns two today!!! Happy 2nd birthday to our sweet, precious Vayu!” Sonam wrote. She expressed her joy at being Vayu’s mother, adding, “Being your mom is the greatest gift I could ever receive. You’ve filled our lives with so much joy, laughter, and wonder.”
Sonam also highlighted the positive impact Vayu has had on her family. “You’ve deepened the love between your dadaa and me in ways we never imagined, and you’ve brought pure, unfiltered joy to everyone who loves you—your nani and nana, dadi and baba, kaaa masa, Masi, Anki chachu, and harsh mamu,” she said.
