Noted film producer and former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani was askedif it was true that Shatrughan Sinha was clueless about the matter. He said theveteran star was away from home campaigning for three months for BJP but hiswife Poonam Sinha must have kept him abreast on the matter. She might haverevealed once he got home after the Lok Sabha campaign. He said that there areno issues between Shatrughan Sinha and his daughter Sonakshi over her marriage.

He also said that Shatrughan Sinha cannot stay angry with his daughter Sonakshi Sinha for a long time. He said she is his ‘laadli’. Nihalani said there is no chance that he will not grace the nuptials of his eldest child. He said that Shatrughan Sinha meant that nowadays children inform their parents but do not seek permission. He was quoted as saying, “Why should he be upset if Sonakshi is marrying the boy of her choice? Shatruji himself married a girl of his choice forty years ago. Even I chose my own life partner when I married my wife. One should not have unrealistic expectations from one’s children.”

Shatrughan Sinha and Pahlaj Nihalani are friends since decades. The producer also had a love marriage like the Bollywood star. Sonakshi Sinha and ZaheerIqbal were dating for seven years but they kept their relationship rather low-key. He is the son of a jeweler and real estate entrepreneur.
