Sonakshi Sinha, Zaheer Iqbal Wedding: Groom's father confirms actress won't convert to Islam

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are indeed tying the knot. Since, it is an inter-faith marriage, there was a lot of speculation on some matters. The actress got trolled as well. Now, Iqbal Ratansi who is the father of the groom has confirmed that they will wed in a civil ceremony. The wedding won’t have Hindu or Muslim rituals. Zaheer is the younger child of Iqbal Ratansi. A jeweller, he has business interests in film equipment, real estate and infrastructure. 

He dismissed reports that Sonakshi Sinha will convert to Islam. He said this union was out of love, and religion did not play any role in the matter. The Ratansis are Ismaili Muslims who belong to the Shia sect. Iqbal Ratansi said he believed in humanity. Zaheer’s father said only the name of God differs and everyone was a human being at the end of the day. He said his blessings are always with the two. The wedding will happen as per Special Marriage Act, 1954 for which a couple has to submit a one-month notice to the marriage registrar. The signing of papers might happen at the Carter Road residence of Zaheer Iqbal. 

She is not converting and that is for sure. Theirs is a union of hearts and religion has no role to play whatsoever.

Even Shatrughan Sinha has confirmed that he is happy with the marriage. He said he will be there for Sonakshi’s big day. She is his eldest child. The Ramayana bungalow of Shotgun is decked with lights. The two families met for dinner to discuss whatever logistics were in mind. The reception is happening at the upscale Bastian restaurant of Mumbai. Sonakshi Sinha  and he have been together for seven years now. The couple kept things quite private. He is younger to her by a few years. Iqbal Ratansi is a close friend of Salman Khan, and like an uncle to Zaheer. Even Sona made her Bollywood debut with the superstar.
