Dressed in pristine white, in a dreamy backdrop Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal became man and wife in a civil ceremony. The actress wore an ivory white saree with gold kundan jewellery and white roses in her hair. A small bindi, soft nude lips and blushed cheeks made her look perfect for an evening affair. Even the groom, Zaheer Iqbal looked like the perfect romantic hero as he kissed her hand. The two did the ceremony on the same date when they met seven years ago. Nothing can be more nostalgic and romantic than this. 

The couple’s Instagram caption read, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever.” Given the kind of social media noise and negativity on celebrity inter-faith marriages, the couple seem to have kept the comments section closed. It is a smart move to retain the beauty and sanctity of one of the most cherished moments of your life. 

The two met seven years back at a party at Salman Khan’s place. Zaheer Iqbal’s father is a good friend of the superstar. He is a jeweler who also deals in realty and supply of film lighting equipment. Zaheer too has his business ventures. Sonakshi Sinha has had a terrific 2023 and 2024 with shows like Dahaad and Heeramandi. People loved her as Fareedan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus.
