Simi Garewal’s Rendezvous is hands down one of the best talk shows of Bollywood. In a throwback interview with a digital news portal, Simi Garewal had spoken about the epic episode that had Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. As we know, she had also asked them about Rekha. If gossip-mongers are to be believed, then Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha have the most passionate unrequited love story of Bollywood. She said that after that episode people told her that they did not believe what Amitabh Bachchan said on her show was the real truth. 

She had one of the most in-depth conversations with the star. In her interview to Reddif, Simi Garewal said, “We talked of everything under the sun. His childhood, adolescence, parents, ABCL, his flops, his return, his family, Jaya, the kids, the kind of women he likes, his professional decisions.” Simi Garewal also said that she never felt that Amitabh Bachchan was dishonest when he was speaking to her. She said that he did not come across as phony or fake. 

“I think he was completely honest. There are people who, after that interview, said, ‘Amitabh Bachchan is not like that!’ Or ‘He was not telling the truth about Rekha!'”

There is also a lot of speculation on what kind of relationship do Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan share in real life. The latter gets trolled for her apparent temper and strong stand on personal boundaries. She said that Amitabh Bachchan was more relaxed and witty after Jaya Bachchan joined him on the sets. She said she brought out the more charming side of his personality. 

Amitabh Bachchan said he has done quite a few films with Rekha. But he said they did not have the same friends’ circle. He was quoted as saying, “That’s about it. Sometimes we bump into each other at a function, which is, you know, an award function, for example, or at a social gathering. But that’s about it.”
