A glimpse of the Story:

Set against the Army backdrop, Neeraj Pandey's "Aiyaary" is a political thriller that unfolds various political corrupt practices one after the other.

The first half will leave you tired and exhausted as the film moves at a snail's pace. It is by the end of first half that it starts to interest you.

The second half is comparatively much better and the main twists and turns keeps you intertwined in the film.

About the characters:

Sidharth Malhotra as Major Jai Bakshi has been a surprise package. The actor has flawlessly broken his chocolate boy image and has convinced us that if given a chance, he can prove his caliber in a different genre as well. But there are a few scenes where Sid gets weak in portraying the arrogance and the mannerism required of an Army Officer!

Manoj Bajpayee plays Colonel Abhay Singh and we must say "Take a Bow" Bajpayee Sir for your amazing performance. He is the USP of the film. From his dialogue delivery to his mannerism and intelligence, Manoj has nailed it all. He will win your hearts with his flawless and polished acting skills. He is the anchor of the ship that has saved it from sinking.

Even in intense scenes, he has managed to add humor to lighten the atmosphere.

What we liked/ disliked:

The complete credit for the loopholes in the film, goes to the director and writer, Neeraj Pandey!

The cast performed exceptionally well but the story and complicated plot leaves you bored.

The film has innumerable loose ends. The plot is very weak and the story fails to convince you. The slow pace of the film makes it very boring causing you to either loose interest or worse sleep off.

Throughout the film, all the characters are just walking and running around (Like seriously, is there a Marathon or Relax going on).

The female cast that comprises of Pooja Chopra and Rakul Preet Singh are just below average. They have been a complete waste. Neither has Pooja played her character 'Captain Maya Semwal' properly and nor has Rakul Preet Singh (Sonia Gupte) managed to strike a chemistry with Sidharth Malhotra's character.

Overall:

The film is a political thriller so please do not expect it to be a family entertainer. It is a must watch for everyone Indian, because you get to know the ugly and dark side of Indian Army. And most importantly you will get to know the real meaning of "Aiyaary".

So this weekend, get ready to enter the intense Army zone!
