Composer Shamir Tandon has created an anti-piracy song to spread awareness about intellectual property rights. Sung by seven singers, including legendary Asha Bhosle's 10-year-old granddaughter Zanai, it will be released Thursday on the occasion of World Intellectual Day.
Titled "Salaami ho jaye", which means saluting the creative fraternity and respecting them by paying for their creativity, the song has been written and composed by Tandon. It has been produced by Universal Music India in association with Flipkart.com
"I'm very touched that just a phone call to my friends Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Mohit Chauhan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kailash Kher and discussing this menace that is killing us all, they all immediately agreed to join hands with me on this project. They not only lent their voices, but also made themselves available for the music video," said Tandon in a statement.
