Don't be afraid of sticky situations where you find it hard to turn down an invite. Some of the famous faces on tube offer insight on how to give that smooth slip!
Mohit Sehgal:
How have you smoothly avoided invitations to places you didn't want to go?
By being straightforward. There was this recent incident when my mom had come to visit me and I was invited for a party. I frankly told them that I'd like to spend quality time with my mother and so won't be able to make it.
Have you received invitations from the same person again?
Yes. The person totally seemed to understand and has invited me over again.
Has there been an instance when you went to a do half heartedly? If so, how did you hold up?
Actually it really doesn't matter how I go to a party. Because, after reaching the spot, we booze, we party, we do masti, so you see…automatically your mood changes.
Sushant Singh Rajput:
How have you smoothly avoided invitations to places you didn't want to go?
I tell them – Mere pet mein chakkar aa raha hai (My head is spinning in my belly). (Laughs). No actually I just say that I'm shooting for long hours.
Have you received invitations from the same person again?
Yes, till now it hasn't happened that a person has been offended.
Has there been an instance when you went to a do half heartedly? If so, how did you hold up?
The ambiance itself charges me up.
Perneet Chauhan:
How have you smoothly avoided invitations to places you didn't want to go?
By being honest. I honestly tell the person that I'm not feeling up to it and to please excuse me.
Have you received invitations from the same person again?
Yes, I have.
Has there been an instance when you went to a do half heartedly? If so, how did you hold up?
No if I'm not in the mood, I don't go.
Shweta Keswani:
How have you smoothly avoided invitations to places you didn't want to go?
I tell this to whoever has invited me- I'm not feeling well.
Have you received invitations from the same person again?
Well, yes. Because even they go through the same situations and have turned down other people's invites. So they are completely cool with it.
Has there been an instance when you went to a do half heartedly? If so, how did you hold up?
No yaar. I never go when I'm not in the mood. It's better to sit at home than to go there and regret it.
Angad Hasija:
How have you smoothly avoided invitations to places you didn't want to go?
No I haven't avoided mostly. Because how can you say no when they call with so much love and affection? It doesn't feel nice. And in extreme cases I put the question to them- Aana zaroori hai?( Is it necessary to come?). So then they understand that I'm genuinely in a tight spot, as I usually say a yes, and they themselves say that it's ok even if I can't make it.
Have you received invitations from the same person again?
Yes, yes. They have called me again.
Has there been an instance when you went to a do half heartedly? If so, how did you hold up?
I go, stay for just a little time and leave.
Ratan Rajput:
How have you smoothly avoided invitations to places you didn't want to go?
No. Because I'm very bad at saying no to people. Take for instance now- I'm really caught up with something, but I'm just not able to ask you to call me back later (Laughs). But yes, I've faced this situation loads of times and I usually go, no matter how pressed for time I am.
Has there been an instance when you went to a do half heartedly? If so, how did you hold up?
I go for about ten minutes and then make my way back.
Saumya Tandon:
How have you smoothly avoided invitations to places you didn't want to go?
Well, actually even I haven't figured that one yet. So I usually don't say no, or else tell them as politely as possible, that I can't make it.
Have you received invitations from the same person again?
Yes. They are all friends after all. They understand.
Has there been an instance when you went to a do half heartedly? If so, how did you hold up?
I don't stay long. I make a short appearance and come back.
Amit Tandon:
How have you smoothly avoided invitations to places you didn't want to go?
I usually use my profession as an excuse. I tell them that I'm shooting till late night and so on.
Have you received invitations from the same person again?
(Laughs). Actually, yes, the people who've seen through my excuses don't invite me again.
Has there been an instance when you went to a do half heartedly? If so, how did you hold up?
I leave early. I make my way to the exit carefully so that the host doesn't notice me leaving.
