Sanjay Dutt Dropped From Ajay Devgn's Son Of Sardaar 2 Due To UK Visa Rejection; Ravi Kishan Takes Over?

Debuting in 2012, Son of Sardaar captured the audience's hearts. Fast forward over a decade, the sequel is gearing up to thrill fans anew. Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt were initially roped in for the project, with Mrunal Thakur as the female lead. However, recent buzz indicates that Sanjay Dutt had to step back from the film due to visa issues for the UK and has been substituted by Ravi Kishan.

Sanjay Dutt was all set to play the villain in Son of Sardaar 2, starring alongside Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur. As per a Mid-day report, Dutt has been dropped from the movie, currently being shot in Scotland, due to a denied UK visa application related to his past time behind bars. The insider spilled the beans that Dutt had encountered similar visa hurdles in the past as well.

The insider also hinted that Sanjay Dutt's visa problems could impact the filming of Housefull 5, set to kick off shooting in London come September. When asked if producer Sajid Nadiadwala would need to find a replacement for Dutt, the source explained, “Sajid has chosen a wiser route. While the shooting with the cast begins in London, all of Sanju’s portions will be filmed in Mumbai. So, there are no issues on that front.”

In April 1993, Sanjay Dutt got nabbed under TADA and the Arms Act. He was eventually convicted of breaching the Arms Act for having illicit firearms obtained from individuals linked to the 1993 Bombay bombings. This led to a five-year prison sentence. The Supreme Court upheld his five-year term in March 2013. After multiple bail stints, he completed his full sentence and walked free in 2016.

Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt were all geared up to play Billu and Jassi once again in Son of Sardaar 2. The buzz suggested that the sequel would take a fresh start instead of continuing from where the first movie concluded.
