Salman Khan’s team has issued a clarification, stating that they are not connected to the Netflix show The Great Indian Kapil Show after a legal notice was sent to the show's creators. The notice was from the Bongo Bhashi Mahasabha Foundation, accusing the show of disrespecting the legacy of Rabindranath Tagore. There were also claims that the notice had been sent to Salman Khan, who had funded the TV version of the show. However, Salman Khan's team has denied any association with the OTT version of the show.

Salman Khan's representatives were quick to respond, releasing a statement to clear up the confusion. The statement made it clear that the production company has no ties with The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. "We are not associated with The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix," they affirmed. They also dismissed reports claiming that Salman Khan or his production house had received any legal notice, calling them false.

The team further clarified that Salman Khan’s production house is not involved with the show, and the legal notice does not affect them in any way. The controversy started when a legal notice was issued by Dr. Mondal, the President of the Bongo Bhashi Mahasabha Foundation, on November 1. The foundation accused the show of offending cultural sentiments by misrepresenting Tagore’s legacy.

Kapil Sharma’s team responded to the allegations with a legal rebuttal, arguing that the show is a comedy program meant for entertainment. They firmly rejected the accusations of disrespect towards Tagore’s legacy, stating that the sketches and parodies on the show are fictional. They also emphasized that the show is not aimed at mocking any individual or community.

Kapil’s legal team further pointed out that the show is a comedy, as labelled by Netflix, and has been appreciated for its humour. They also stressed that the show’s global popularity and satire-based content do not harm reputations in any way, insisting that the claims made in the notice are baseless.
