Richa Chadha is on cloud nine as her work in Heeramandi has been loved by one and all. Though it was a small role she brought alive the character of the broken and lovelorn Lajjo Jaan with finesse. She has got the maximum accolades for her work along with Manisha Koirala aka Mallikajaan. Richa Chadha has the knack to transform herself in whatever her director expects from her. She has been doing it since her Gangs Of Wasseypur days. Till date, people love her as Nagma Khatun from the Anurag Kashyap film. 

Knowing how the industry tends to stereotype actors once they excel in a role, the actress took steps to maintain her real life image. Richa Chadha said she ensured that she dressed sexily for all events after Gangs Of Wasseypur. She wanted people to be aware of how she looked like in person, and not think of her in the same age group as Nagma Khatun. She was quoted as saying, “Those are the strategies that I adopted. Stereotyping happens with everyone, but eventually, you get the people who understand who you are. I never thought I would do a song with Bhansali Saheb ten years into my career.” 

Richa Chadha narrated how she gave close to a 100 retakes for the song yet Sanjay Leela Bhansali was not satisfied. It seems she lost her cool on him. The filmmaker told her that while she had rehearsed and all, the scene was not landing right. It seems Richa started to cry in anger. Sanjay Leela Bhansali used that footage to great effect in Heeramandi. She has been generous in her praise of Sanjay Leela Bhansali whom everyone describe as a perfectionist. Ali Fazal and she are expecting their first child. She has said the baby is lucky for the actor as he has got 4-5 movies in hand.
