Raveena Tandon grabbed attention due to a distressing incident where she and her driver were attacked by a mob in Mumbai, following claims of reckless driving, in June 2024. Recently, Raveena revealed that a nearly identical situation happened to Richa Chadha just a day later. "No CCTV cameras to record the truth," she stated, mentioning that Richa couldn't file an official report and had to resolve the issue privately, as recommended by the authorities.
In a recent discussion with NewsX Live, Raveena Tandon shared a terrifying experience she encountered in June when she was targeted by a chaotic mob. She not only updated on her own situation but also highlighted a similar event involving actress Richa Chadha, which occurred just a day later.
Raveena noted that these incidents indicate a troubling trend in Mumbai, seemingly designed to instill fear and intimidation. She mentioned that the day after her own attack, she received a call from Richa Chadha, who described a comparable encounter with a mob.
Sadly, Richa couldn't file an official complaint due to the absence of CCTV footage to back her claims. Raveena elaborated that the Heeramandi actress was even pressured to settle the matter by making a payment.
“Unfortunately, no CCTV cameras to record the truth. In fact, she had to pay up. She had to settle the matter. The cops told her that settle it. She, in fact, the poor thing, went ahead and settled,” she recalled.
Raveena shared new insights regarding her case, indicating that the police investigation determined the mob attack was planned with the aim of extorting money from her.
She described the terrifying ordeal, detailing how aggressive the mob was, even trying to force their way into her home while her children were upstairs and her husband was not present. The scene escalated as male staff members were pulled and assaulted by the intruders.
In June, a video went viral showing a heated confrontation between Raveena Tandon and a group of locals who accused her and her driver of assaulting three women. As Raveena tried to engage with the crowd to de-escalate the situation, she was reportedly pushed and struck during the chaos.
The video showed her pleading, “Please don’t hit me,” while a man in the crowd claimed that her driver had injured his mother and blamed Raveena for starting the incident, implying she was under the influence. This incident took place on Carter Road in Bandra, Mumbai.
