Ranveer Singh starrer sports drama 83 to release on OTT soon?

While Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83’ was just on the way to glory but it has not exactly fetched the kind of money that was expected from a big budget entertainer. 

The film has been hit by the rise in Covid cases across the country, with theatres shutting down in Delhi and fewer shows in Mumbai.

The makers are now mulling over the decision to release this sports drama earlier on OTT. 

Director Kabir Khan speaking about the film’s digital debut, told a news portal that if further restrictions are imposed, they will release ‘83’ on the web soon

Let us tell you at the box office, the film opened with Rs 11.90 crore. At the end of nine days, the films has collected Rs 79.46 crore at the box office.

While this sports drama faced a lot of competition from the Hindi dubbed version of ‘Pushpa’ and Hollywood biggie ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

Directed by Kabir Khan, this film narrates the story of the Indian cricket team’s win during the world cup in 1983. 

Apart from Ranveer, ‘83’ also stars Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Adinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa and R Badree in pivotal roles.

On the workfront Ranveer Singh will be seen in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, wherein he is paired opposite Alia Bhatt. 

This Karan Johar directorial also features Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi playing pivotal roles. 

Speaking about the film Ranveer had said that he would term it as a blessing. To be with such big icons and legends on the sets of 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' is a huge honour for him.
