Rani Mukerji opens up on why Kolkata is special to her

The 28th Kolkata International Film Festival will be inaugurated by actress Rani Mukerji. The actress also stated that visiting Kolkata always holds a particular place in her heart because it reminds her of her early years. For the unevrsed, Rani will be travelling with  Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, to Kolkata to launch the Kolkata International Film Festival. Well this is in  recognition of Rani's celebrated career over the past 25 years and her incalculable contributions to the Indian cinema industry, the festival has invited her as a distinguished guest to its 28th edition.

At the event's opening ceremony, she will receive honours in the presence of dignitaries from the international, Indian, and West Bengal cinemas.

On the same note the Mardaani actress expressed her love and emotions related to Kolkata

Rani said: "A visit to Kolkata is always special to me as it brings back childhood memories and reminds me of my love for cinema that grew in my heart from an early age. Kolkata International Film Festival has celebrated the legacy of filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak, Mrinal Sen and many Bengalis artists and technicians who have contributed to creating this vibrant Indian film industry and I'm honoured that this time they have decided to celebrate my career and felicitate me along with other achievers."

She concluded: "It is a moment of great pride for me, and I'm really humbled to be receiving this honour in the presence of luminaries of West Bengal, India, and world cinema."

On the work front, Rani will be seen in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway. The film is slated to release on March 3, 2023.
