Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt's Love And War avoids clash with Toxic? Bhansali dealing with budget issues

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal’s Love And War is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. Alia Bhatt is reuniting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after the blockbuster Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Ranbir Kapoor post his debut film Sawaariya. This will be Vicky Kaushal’s first movie with the celebrated filmmaker. It was supposed to clash with Toxic. Yash, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Nayantara’s movie with Geetu Mohandas is one of the big budget entertainers of the year. It is riding on immense hype. After KGF, Yash will be back as a mafia don in a period movie.

It seems Love And War is a big budget movie, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali is funding it on his own. The shoot started on time but now things have been put on hold. He had plans to finish the shoot by November 2025, but now it seems like it will end by February 2026. A trade source informed this to Bollywood Hungama. Fans can expect a release in the middle of 2026. Even Toxic got delayed as some portions were reportedly re-shot. It seems Kiara Advani has been paid Rs 15 crores for the film. She is playing the role of a dancer and it is her boldest work yet.

On the other hand, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is funding Love And War all on his own. He has made changes to the budget so that he can meet deadlines.

It’s a period film and needs right costing to make things work. SLB has now procured required funds and is restarting the shoot sans a delay of 2 months.

In the middle of all this, Alia Bhatt is also reportedly in talks with Nag Ashwin to do a woman-centric film. Her action movie Alpha is coming in December 2025. Ranbir Kapoor will have Love And War and Ramayana in 2026.
