The highly anticipated cinematic adaptation of the ancient epic 'Ramayana,' directed by Nitesh Tiwari, continues to generate excitement with its growing star-studded cast. Recently, it was revealed that actor Kunal Kapoor has joined the ensemble, adding another layer of talent to the project. Kapoor, known for his versatile performances, is already deep into preparation, engaging in rehearsals and costume trials for his undisclosed role.
The film, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Maa Sita, is set to be a grand-scale retelling of the classic Indian epic. Although specific details about Kunal's character remain under wraps, the actor's involvement has heightened anticipation for the film.
In addition to the lead trio, the cast includes South superstar Yash as the formidable Ravana, and Lara Dutta is reportedly taking on the role of Surpanakha. The ambitious project is planned as a two-part saga, reflecting the extensive narrative and rich tapestry of the 'Ramayana.' According to reports, the production team has meticulously planned a 350-day shooting schedule, encompassing both the combined scenes of the ensemble cast and individual sequences. The dual-part approach ensures that the story is told with the depth and detail it deserves, with both films slated to be completed by December 2025.
Kunal Kapoor's recent projects include the completion of 'Jewel Thief: The Red Sun Chapter,' produced by Siddharth Anand, where he shares the screen with Saif Ali Khan. Additionally, Kapoor is set to star in 'Vishwambhara,' a socio-fantasy film featuring Chiranjeevi, and another project under Aamir Khan Productions. Beyond these, Kapoor is also gearing up for an action-packed web series, where he will play a vigilante, further showcasing his range and versatility as an actor.
As 'Ramayana' moves forward, it continues to promise a cinematic experience of epic proportions, blending a rich narrative with a powerhouse cast. The viral pictures from the sets often make waves on social media, and fans have been waiting eagerly to see how this film will turn up. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor also has 'Animal Park' in the kitty, where he will be seen in an intense avatar, as we did in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's predecor for the film.
