Rakht Brahmand: Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Wamiqa Gabbi come together for fantasy series

After the success of The Night Manager, Aditya Roy Kapur has signed on a new web series with Raj and DK. Samantha Ruth Prabhu who has done a couple of shows with them is also on board. As per fresh reports, makers have also got Wamiqa Gabbi on board. She has done OTT series like Grahan, Jubilee, Modern Love Mumbai and Charlie Chopra and Mystery Of The Solang Valley in the past. She is also a part of Atlee’s film Baby John with Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh. Kalees is the director. It looks like she has bagged one more plum project. 

Earlier, it was said that the series is titled Rakhtbeej, and is heavy on action. But as per a portal, the new name of the OTT series is Rakht Brahmand. It is a period fantasy. It seems Raj and DK will be bankrolling the series, while Rahi Anil Barve is the director. He is known for his cult folk horror film Tumbadd, and Gulkanda Tales. As per sources, the maker has envisioned a world of intrigue and fantasy which is completely new for Indian cinema. The three actors were stunned by the concept and visual depiction that Barve had in mind for the same. It seems Rahi Anil Barve was developing the story even before Tumbadd. He had plans to make it a film but later felt that the story would be told in a better manner in OTT format. The show will be a tale of love, deceit, betrayal and sacrifice. 

It seems Aditya Roy Kapur said yes to the project only in May 2024. The makers got Samantha Ruth Prabhu on board. Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK said they adore how hard-working and professional Samantha Ruth Prabhu is as an artiste. They have worked before in The Family Man 2 and Citadel: Honey Bunny. The two are already prepping for the action scenes individually. They will also have joint training sessions. It seems Raj and DK are busy with the shoot of The Family Man. Rakht Brahmand will go on floors reportedly in August 2024. Wamiqa Gabbi has earned a good fan base after shows like Jubilee. She is very talented with the quintessential desi good looks.
