Ragini MMS3: Not Tamannaah Bhatia but Nora Fatehi was the first choice for the project?

Horror movies in India are profitable if the story and execution clicks at some level. Of late, we have seen a resurgence in the genre even in regional cinema. Movies like Jarann, Vash: Level 2, Su From So and Bou Buttu Bhutta did well at the box office.

Makers of the Ragini MMS franchise, Balaji Motion Pictures have announced the third film of the series. It seems Tamannaah Bhatia is confirmed as the leading lady of the film. She is riding high on the success of songs like Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2.

Nora Fatehi was the first choice for the movie?

There are reports that Nora Fatehi was the first choice of the makers. She has been making waves in the desi and international stage with her collaborations. Nora Fatehi’s Tetema is also a chartbuster. It seems the makers were keen to sign her for Ragini MMS 3.

Sources told Filmfare that Nora Fatehi struggled to adjust dates for Ragini MMS 3. She is working on multiple projects in India and abroad. Nora is also doing an undisclosed project for which she has to be in Los Angeles for a really long duration of time.

She had no choice but to let go of Ragini MMS 3. The first movie, Ragini MMS came out in 2011 starring Kainaz Motivala and Rajkummar Rao. Sunny Leone starred in 2014, which was also a decent hit.

All's well between Nora Fatehi and Ekta Kapoor

While the makers are yet to confirm Tamannaah Bhatia as the leading lady, it is more or less sealed. At the same time, Ekta Kapoor has plans to do a movie with Nora Fatehi, which will be a much bigger project. Both the ladies have not let this dent their bond, warmth or camaraderie. Nora Fatehi's career at the global level has been on the upswing after the FIFA World Cup 2023 where she performed in Qatar.
