The
talented actor Kannan Arunachalam who has entertained the audience with
his acting skills in films and television shows like Laagi Tujse Lagan,
Na Aana Iss Desh Ladoo among others is also currently seen in Saurabh
Tiwari's Nautanki Films popular daily soap Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon
on Colors', talks about his grey roles in the shows, his wish to play
different character and much more.
On his show Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon:
It is a very promising show and is very popular too on Indian television. It feels great being a part of this show and my role as Rashid is also very interesting which adds more fun and enjoyment when I play the character. All the actors are amazing and their hard-work has paid off well. The production house is great to work with too. To sum it off I would say I am really very happy to be a part of this show.
His connect with Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon cast:
Firstly the shoot schedule does not allow you to become best buddies on sets (smiles). But I know all of them well and we share a good bond, especially with Shama Deshpande as we are family friends. I totally appreciate the acting of Dipali a.k.a Seema Mishra in the show. From the very start of the show she has added the much needed negative colour beautifully.
On his experience working with Colors:
Colors is a fantastic channel and we all know that. They have come up with some amazing shows which are very entertaining to the audience. It is one of the most liked channel and I am thankful to them on my part that they have given me the opportunity to work with them. I have done nearly 3 shows with Colors and my experience so far has been very good.
His journey of playing grey characters:
I have mostly been seen playing grey characters on Indian television. It is a very challenging role for an actor to play and I am happy that I have tried playing such challenging roles. Amongst all the shows that I have done so far, Na Aaana Iss Desh Ladoo where I played the character of Dharam Veer Sangwan was one show I enjoyed the most. I also like it because my character was around for too long in the show(smiles). My journey in that show is memorable and I will never forget that period in my life.
Laagi Tujse Lagan too was a superb show, the role which I played in that show named Nana was a difficult one but very challenging too. For almost starting 2 months I found the character too difficult but with time I got used to it. I must say the negative character played by Aashka Goradia in that show was spectacular, she is a very talented actress and she brought the character of Kalavati very beautifully and gracefully. I loved her performance in that show the most."
Different roles he would want to play:
Its not that I only love to play negative roles, if I am given an opportunity to play positive roles I would happily take them and also do true justice to it. As an actor I would love to explore more and more with my acting skills.
The difference between television and films:
Both television and films are perfect in their way. Just that when one is doing a daily soap he gets lots of time to improve himself and also he gets the result of his performance on the spot. But yes at the same time daily soaps require a lot of working hours and have to be shot back to back whereas shooting for films hardly takes any time and unlike television we don't get to know our performance on the spot. We have to wait for the same until the movie releases.
