Punjabi film "RSVP - Ronde Saare Vyah Picho", featuring professional actors, will have a wider release. When it comes out Friday, it will hit over 500 screens in the country besides screenings abroad.
Made at a budget of Rs.2.5 crore plus promotion, marketing and advertising expenses, the film will also hit screens in Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US. The makers have used various means to promote the film globally.
"For promotion, we are active on various radio stations and have used online platform too. Our film is the first Punjabi movie to make headline on yahoo.com, so we feel honoured. 'RSVP' is the only Punjabi movie to have an official website," Brinder Sran, who has co-produced the film with Aparna Sud, told IANS.
In addition to promotions and a strong story, the makers are also banking on the star cast of the film as the film doesn't star singer-turned-actors, a popular trend in Punjabi cinema.
Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, "RSVP" features Harish Verma, Neeru Bajwa, Gugu Gill and Rajpal Yadav, among others.
