Producer who stabbbed actress Malvi Malhotra traced, yet to be arrested: Police

Actress Malvi Malhotra was stabbed with a knife in the abdomen and on both hands by the accused Yogesh Mahipal Singh, a producer, who later fled in his car.

Actress Malvi Malhotra, popularly known for her performance in the show Udaan, faced a knife attack on Monday evening in Mumbai. The actress was returning home from a cafe in Versova when the accused Yogesh Mahipal Singh, a producer arrived in a luxury car and stabbed her after an an argument.

In the latest update, the accused who fled after stabbing TV actress Malvi Malhotra has been traced. He is yet to be arrested as he is hospitalised, says Police.

Malvi was allegedly acquainted with Kumar and the NDTV report suggests that she was attacked for turning down his marriage proposal. The accused stabbed the actor with a knife in the abdomen and on both hands and fled in his car.

Malvi is currently admitted at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. She has requested Rekha Sharma, a chairperson of National Commission for Women and actress Kangana Ranaut to look into this matter and support her.

Meanwhile, an FIR against Singh has been registered under various Indian Penal Code sections, including 307 (attempt to murder).
