Producer Vinod Kumar accuses Prakash Raj of unprofessional behavior; claims Rs 1 Crore loss

Renowned actor Prakash Raj recently found himself in the midst of controversy after producer Vinod Kumar publicly accused him of causing a significant financial loss during a film shoot. The dispute began when Prakash Raj shared a picture on X (formerly Twitter) with Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and Chief Minister MK Stalin, expressing his joy over Udhayanidhi’s new appointment with a simple caption, "With a Deputy CM… #justasking."

However, the cheerful post soon took a sharp turn as producer Vinod Kumar reshared it, claiming that Prakash had abandoned a film set without notice, leading to a loss of Rs 1 crore. Vinod, without naming the project, accused Prakash of disappearing from the set, leaving the crew in disarray. In a direct response, Vinod tweeted, "The other three personalities sitting with you have won elections, but you lost the deposit; that’s the difference. You made a loss of Rs 1 crore on my set, disappearing from the caravan without informing us! What was the reason?! #Justasking!!!" He added that Prakash had promised to call him but never followed through.

Vinod further elaborated on the incident, stating that it occurred on September 30, 2024, when Prakash reportedly left the set after receiving a call from another production. Vinod described the situation as chaotic, with nearly 1,000 junior artists present on a 4-day schedule. With no prior warning, the actor's sudden exit forced the production to halt, leading to a significant financial setback for the team. Prakash Raj has yet to respond to these allegations.

This is not the first time Prakash Raj has been in the headlines recently. In September, the actor questioned Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, regarding the Tirupati laddu controversy, urging him to take action locally instead of making it a national issue. When Pawan Kalyan responded during a press meet, Prakash Raj, then shooting in Nepal, promised to address the matter upon his return.

On the professional front, Prakash Raj has been quite busy. He recently appeared in Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1 and is set to star in the much-anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule alongside Allu Arjun. Additionally, he has major projects lined up with Ram Charan in Game Changer and upcoming films with Vijay and Suriya in leading roles.
