Priyanka Chopra and fam miss dad Ashok Chopra on Siddharth Chopra, Neelam Upadhyaya Hastakshar

Priyanka Choprais in town for the marriage of her brother Siddharth Chopra with actress Neelam Upadhyaya. The actor’s brother has shared pics from the Hastakshar and ring ceremony. We can see that he is dressed in a cream sherwani while she is in an Indian pink lehenga. They also cut a ‘We Miss You’ cake remembering their dad, late Ashok Chopra. Priyanka Chopra wore a burnt orange salwar kameez for the occasion with two blush pink roses tucked in her hair. Siddharth Chopra and Neelam Upadhyaya have been dating since a long time now. Madhu Chopra wore a powder blue suit for the function. 

In one of the pics, we can see that Madhu Chopra looks visibly emotional. Ashok Chopra passed away in 2013. He could not see the marriages of any of his children. Priyanka Chopra holds her mom tight as she has a forlorn expression thinking about her late husband. Priyanka Chopra was also seen showering her love on Neelam Upadhyaya. The bride’s mother too was in tears. Madhu Chopra said it was a simple joyous occasion for the family. Mannara Chopra was present as well for the function. Parineeti Chopra gave it a miss but her brother and mom congratulated the new couple.

The demise of her dad affected Priyanka Chopra deeply. She has a tattoo ‘Daddy’s Li’l Girl’ on her right wrist. The actress said she slowly realized that the pain would never end. After his demise, she moved to the West where she actively pursued a Hollywood career. Priyanka has said that her dad was her biggest cheerleader. Her parents left everything and came to Mumbai to help her build her career in Bollywood. 

Nick Jonas and Malti Marie did not come for the functions. Priyanka Chopra had come solo for the engagement of Parineeti Chopra, Raghav Chaddha as well. The actress was later seen at Film City. Her production house has a few projects lined up of late. Priyanka Chopra is a doting sister to Siddharth Chopra who is a producer. Good friends like Mushtaq Sheikh, Amaal Malik and Tanuj Virwani congratulated him too!
