India-Forums was invited to a special screening of the first episode of Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi LEVEL 2 at a plush Mumbai multiplex on Friday night.
The guest list included 12/13 beauties who fought against their fear in this COLORS show. However, noted absentee was contestant Mandira Bedi. Also seen were Bigg Boss 2 contestants Ketaki Dave, Alina Wadiwalla and Raja Choudhary. Avinash Mukherjee aka Jagdish seemed to be in a bad mood. His Ballika Vadhu co star, Avika Gaur and Saloni( Choti Miyan) on the other hand were seen enjoying themselves.
As all the contestants were dressed to kill, the waiting media grilled them on their fashion funda's. Model turned actress, Jesse Randhawa felt that the Indian woman looks the most stunning in a sari. "One should always dress according to one's comfort level and never ape others", said she.
Well known VJ and anchor Pia Trivedi said that the safest color is always Black. She accepted that it was quite tough for celebrities to always look their best. Pia who is looking at film scripts proudly declared that till date she had not suffered any fashion faux pas. "I check myself ten times before the mirror, even when I have to dress casually", avers she. She has no problems with skin show as long as it appears chic. The hottest outfit in her wardrobe is a low neck, deep back, micro mini dress.
Parsi babe, Nauheed Cyrusi, on her part talked about food. She apparently loves to make Patra ni machchi.
Sushma Reddy who had not come for the launch press conference, said that she had earlier declined Season 1, but this time agreed to take the plunge. "There will never be a right time as a certain fear always lurks around. But it was a decision that I took after lot of deliberation with family and friends, who said go ahead."
This model turned actor and now producer held no punches when she accepted that there was a lot of competition amongst the 13 girls. "Friendships went out of the window within days", she states. So what was her biggest fear? "Any stunt which involved water. Some of the other girls were water babies but not me, may be this has much to do with the fact that India is not much of a sporting nation".
Talk about Akshay Kumar and Sushma cheerfully said, "I had the wrong notion that being a big star, he would come late, but not only was he on time, but he was totally involved in the stunts as well. When I was going wrong, he took me aside for a 20 minutes pep talk too".
After a long wait all the contestants gathered on stage, where the host Nikhil Chinnappa made a small talk with all the girls in his flirting style.
We were then taken thro the preview of the Monday night episode which you saw. Personally, I liked the stunts, and my gut was constantly churning as the stunts went on. It was more interesting to me as a viewer, than as the tube stunt, which acceptably was quite challenging.
One main draw back which I felt was that beyond a point, the stunts got boring, but then that problem should reduce as the numbers of contestants dwindle and the tasks get stiffer with each passing episode. It is also a short duration show, which will be over in matter of weeks.
But we leave you with a thought - whether the channel could have kept the show as a half hour format?
