The controversy surrounding Zee TV's Aisi Deewangi...Dekhi Nahi Kahi has now escalated with the involvement of NHRC. Actors Pranav Misshra and Jyoti Sharma quit the show owing to mental and physical harassment in addition to extra working hours.
Following this, the producers Jatin Sethi and Aastha Nad filed a defamation case against the actors. According to the reports in Bombay times, the National Human Rights Commission of India (NHRC) has responded to the complaint filed by Jyoti against the producers. CINTAA has, in fact has applauded the cause as well.
Aastha R. Naad said, "Cintaa is qouting things in media as if NHRC has already worked in their favor and has already passed judgment. They accused us by using the word "clout" in one of their statements, the time when we put faith in Indian Constitutional Agencies seeking justice. So now, if they have finally developed faith in Indian law; we are more than happy because, we too feel 'Right' should be given justice. Irony is; The ones who approached NHRC has violated our human rights by dishonoring our legal agreement & further breaching it by defaming us. Their inhuman & unprofessional behavior leaded to shut down the show, snatching job from their own fellow team members who were feeding their families coz of "Aisi Deewangi".
Aisi Deewangi was bread winner for almost 100 families.
She further quoted, "Pranav and Jyoti shamelessly blamed us for inhuman treatment on sets where they were provided with separate vanity vans, all other luxuries to boost their newly born stardom, even a mini health club. We always were family not producers to them in our conduct. When Pranav's mother got ill during last month's of year 2017; we paid him two months in advance on his request, just to ensure he should feel we are there.
Unfortunately, Cintaa did not even consider the statements of other artists (their own members) of 'Aisi Deewangi Dekhi Nahi Kahi' who denied all allegations made by Pranav and Jyoti to them. Cintaa only talks about stress level of lead actors; who sit in AC vans, standwith a boy holding the umbrella for them. We had truly appreciated if Cintaa has also acknowledged pain of those spot boys, light men, production people and entire team who leave the set almost after half to one hour than lead actors and next morning reach to set one hour before lead actors in order to prepare for the shoot."
She added, "Now, they have approached NHRC for justice, but surprisingly they never showed up when ever any Indian constitutional agency called them up to hear their side. They even didn't not attend any of the meetings of film industry's most reputed & trusted constitutional agency IMMPA in-spite endless calls. This clearly shows how honest they are. The people who are right doesn't hide away or run from left to right looking out an escape route.
We shall alarm Indian TV producers out of sheer sense of duty to safeguard themselves against such actors who thanklessly will use them as ladder to get job, and later kick them away accusing their own nurturers in order to fulfill their self interests.
We have raised our complaint to the Indian agencies and we trust them and believe justice will be served to us."
We contacted Pranav, who owing to health conditions couldn't talk to us while Jyoti remained unavailable for any comment.
