Prabhakar Srinet on Muqaam: I was actually very excited about the filming

Actor Prabhakar Srinet is popularly known for his role in the movie Paranthe Wali Gali. He has also been seen in tv shows like Choti Sardaarni and Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein. He is recently seen in the Hungama Play project Muqaam. The actor talks exclusively about his show and his character.

Tell us about your character in the show?

I am essaying the role of an auto driver, Tahir, who is a small-time criminal. He, along with his friend Chandu, commits petty crimes to make some quick bucks on the side. Tahir has plans to marry his girlfriend Disha. However, she is unaware of his criminal-sided face.

Why did you choose the script?

The reason behind it would be that I got very excited when I got to know the script, and also because the team planned to shoot everything on live locations. I was actually very excited about the filming part. Additionally, this is my first film as lead. The film was shot in UP and it was a plus point for me as I belong to the same part of UP. I had a good understanding of the tone and a sense of familiarity with the city.

Is there any relatability factor with the character?

I don’t relate to the character at all as the character Tahir is criminal minded, and I am not. (laughs). So we are kind of on different sides of the same coin. 

Where can we see you next?

I have been shooting for a few Bollywood projects which will be coming out soon. I have already completed the shoot for one movie which is going to be released soon.
