The saga surrounding Poonam Pandey continues to be a buzzing scenario, which continues to draw flak and negative reactions more than people offering support. However, amid the select few who have offered their support, another new name has joined the list, and that is Pandey's husband, Sam Bombay.
Interestingly, Bombay expressed relief and offered a take on the whole issue as well in an interview with Hindustan Times. When the news about her being alive was confirmed and was receiving backlash, Bombay mentioned that he just felt delighted to know that his wife was, in fact, still alive. He said, "I'm delighted she did. She is alive. That's enough for me. Alhamdullilah.” Talking about his interesting take on when the news first hit the web that she had passed away, he mentioned having a lack of surprise despite initial chaos and confusion. He also remained inconsistent in support of his wife.
He said, “When I heard the news, I felt nothing in my heart. There was no sense of loss. And I thought this can't be. Why do I feel nothing? Because when you're connected, you feel everything. I think about her (Poonam Pandey) every day. And I pray for her every day. If something were wrong, I'd know.”
For the uninitiated, news about the death of Pandey due to cervical cancer first hit the web a couple of days ago, which led to multiple news portals, including us, filing the same only after having it officially confirmed from the actress' official PR team. However, the following day, a video featuring her was released that confirmed she was alive, and this was done as a marketing campaign to raise awareness about cervical cancer.
