Pooja Dey: My mother was furious when I first told her about becoming an actor instead of a doctor

A journey to showbiz is never easy, especially when a bright student who, instead of becoming a doctor or engineer, dreams of becoming an actor. One such actress who was into medical studies but left that to enter into the world of acting is Pooja Dey. The actress recalls the time when she first told her mother about becoming an actress.

She shares, "I have been always been a bright student academically. After my schooling, I was preparing for my medical studies and wanted to become a doctor. I remember that my mother was very furious when I first told her about becoming an actor instead of a doctor. She was angry because I had worked so hard for medical studies and I wanted to give up everything about becoming an actress. For a few days, she was upset with me for switching careers, but gradually she understood my dedication towards acting and told me to fulfill my dreams."

Lastly, the actress says that she is happy to make her mother proud of her work. She says,"My mother has been very supportive in my journey. Through thick and thin, it was she who was my biggest cheerleader. She watches every project of mine and gives me genuine feedback. She is very proud of my achievement and work I do. I consider myself lucky to have my mother by my side as a pillar."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Pooja made her acting debut with reality show Dating in the Dark. Post this, she was seen in the web series Gandii Baat Season 5 and in Vikram Bhatt’s film ‘Sanak’.
