Parineeti’s husband Raghav Chadha speaks against piracy says,"Film industry is facing a loss of 20,000 crore"

Parineeti Chopra's hubby, Raghav Chadha, a prominent politician affiliated with the AAP party, is known for his active presence on social media, where he voices his opinions on various matters. Recently, during the Rajya Sabha session, he addressed the rampant issue of piracy in the film industry, urging the Indian government to take concrete actions to combat this problem.

Earlier today, on August 2, Parineeti Chopra's spouse and AAP member Raghav Chadha posted a video from the Rajya Sabha session on his social media accounts. During today's session, he brought up the topic of piracy in the film industry and reiterated this concern in his recent social media updates.

He expressed, "Piracy is a significant plague that is all pervasive in the film industry and now in OTT world as well. The film industry is facing a loss of Rs 20,000 crore annually because of piracy. Online piracy saw a 62% surge during the pandemic."

"We passed the Cinematographic (Amendment) Bill, a year back but it lacks a concrete mechanism against online piracy and focuses largely on anti-cam recording in multiplexes," he further added.

On a concluding note, he posed the question to the government, "As we go digital with more movies being streamed on platforms, I ask the Government what is being done to curb the issue of digital piracy on OTT and whether the government has any plans to bring a dedicated legislation for the same?"

Last year in September, Parineeti Chopra tied the knot with Raghav Chadha in a luxurious destination wedding held in Udaipur. The extravagant festivities were graced by numerous Bollywood stars and prominent figures from the political arena.

For those who may not know, Chadha represents Punjab in the Rajya Sabha and has been a part of AAP since its establishment in 2012. Before venturing into politics, he pursued a career as a chartered accountant.

On the other hand, Parineeti's latest appearance was in Imtiaz Ali's biographical drama flick, "Amar Singh Chamkila," starring alongside Diljit Dosanjh. Her performance as Amarjot Kaur, Chamkila's wife, garnered significant praise. Looking ahead, the actress hasn't disclosed any upcoming projects yet.
