Actor Nyra Banerjee has been on the tube for several years now where she has seen in shows like Divya Drishti, Excuse Me Maddam and is currently a part of the show, Rakshabandhan... Rasal Apne Bhai Ki Dhal. And owing to having been in multiple TV shows and web shows for a while now, she has been living in the city of Mumbai all this time.

Being a Bengali, the actor has hence celebrated the festivals of Diwali and Kali Puja here itself and while last year,  the festival was celebrated in a low key way due to COVID-19, this year Mumbai wears a festive spirit for the puja as cases are low.

Talking about her Diwali plans, Banerjee told ETimes TV, “We light up 14 diyas before the day of Diwali which was yesterday, then we will eat a mix of 14 greens or choddo shak as we call it in Bangla. Mahakali is Goddess of time and darkness so we pray to her during this occasion.”

She added, “After performing rituals at my home, I will be going to a Kali Puja pandal nearby to seek mother's blessings. I am a person who takes all the traditions very seriously and thus I make sure that whatever I do, I do it in a right way. I am a spiritual person and I meditate with Laxmi mantra to bring in positivity in my life."

Interestingly, she even did a special photoshoot with a local photographer following the campaign of supporting local artists. “I have never done a special shoot earlier. This year I collaborated with a female photographer who uses handloom and handmade clothes that helps the tribal people. So every sale generated from my shoot is valuable. Hence it’s my way of helping a cause and also wanted to be creative. The look has been getting a lot of appreciation and I am loving the fact that I could help someone this Diwali," she concluded.

We wish everyone a Happy Diwali.
