Television’s renowned face Nia Sharma grabbed attention after being announced as the first contestant for Bigg Boss 18 during the grand finale of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. However, in a surprising twist, she declared on October 6 that she would not be taking part in the show, leaving fans both disappointed and puzzled. Now, Nia has finally addressed the situation, providing clarity on what truly occurred.
While talking to Pinkvilla, Nia shared that she was originally set to join Bigg Boss 18, but unexpected changes in plans caused her to pull out.

She explained, “It was Colors, and I was informed at the very last minute. I was supposed to be part of the Laughter Chef integration, but by the time they announced it, Laughter Chef got cancelled.” This put her in a peculiar position, as the buzz surrounding her involvement had already been established. Even with the sudden change, she didn’t hold any resentment, adding, “The whole thing was to create buzz, and I think they succeeded.”
Nia also stated that the decision was solely made by the network, and she completely backed their approach. She said, “If they’re doing something using my name, it’s completely alright. I have two shows with them, and I respect their planning.”
Interestingly, Nia acknowledged the attention her announcement received, admitting that the buzz surrounding her name was significant. “The excitement was enormous, and I loved it,” she said. She humorously added, “Until someone actually participates in Bigg Boss, people don’t really care.”
Despite her choice to withdraw, Nia faced some backlash. She revealed that she received hate messages and abuse from certain fans who felt disappointed by her decision. Nevertheless, she stayed resilient, opting to concentrate on the positive aspects of the situation. “I felt I owed an apology to my fans for not going, but I take it in my stride. It was fun to experience that level of hype again.”
Lastly, the Laughter Chefs Unlimited actress remarked, “It was beautiful hype and a review that I saw myself after a very long time. Other than that, it’s all about my clothes, it’s how I dress up, how naked I am all the time about my cleavage. It’s time we moved on from there, and I think after Laughter Chefs quite a lot has changed.”
