Soundarya Sharma recently opened up to Hindustan Times about her experience working in Housefull 5, her Bollywood comeback, and why she’s particular about the roles she chooses. With a diverse career that began with her debut in Ranchi Diaries and moved through reality TV on Bigg Boss 16, Soundarya has now bagged a role in the Housefull franchise. She expressed her excitement for this new project and her journey in Bollywood so far.

Reflecting on her Bigg Boss days, Soundarya explained how the show impacted her career. When asked about her time on the show, she immediately replied, “When the Bigg Boss name comes, I hate it because I have done other things too. We may not be born with the golden spoon that opportunity, but then we are hustling and creating our own opportunities.” She added that she’s careful about her work choices. Since her debut in 2017, she’s only done five roles, a fact she proudly owns, saying, “You have to be selective to do quality work, and then people give you gyan. They don’t give you work; they give you gyan.”

Soundarya revealed that her Bigg Boss participation once cost her a major film role. “In a very big film, which has recently gone for the Oscars, I was one of the initial shortlisted actors. But I missed the opportunity because I stayed longer in the Bigg Boss house. I had thought I would be out in four weeks but ended up staying much longer,” she shared.

Currently, Soundarya has shot a substantial portion of her role in Housefull 5, where she stars alongside Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Nora Fatehi, and Kriti Kharbanda. She described the experience as thrilling, saying, “It was so much fun and amazing. It was a laughter ride to be around everybody.”

Soundarya is thrilled about Housefull 5, calling the script unique. “The cast itself is so good and humongous. Everybody so happy around the script is so good that, let me tell you, it’s not like one of those we’ve seen so far,” she concluded with excitement.
