New financial year has begun... Celebs share their financial plans!

While we all have fun today playing pranks on each other on April 1^st as the day is celebrated as April Fool's Day, but on a serious note this day also marks the beginning of the new financial year.

With the beginning of a new financial year, we should make a new resolution regarding our expenses and investments for a smooth management of our monetary funds. While this new financial year has begun, the increase in service taxes are also making a buzz all around.

TellyBuzz spoke to the popular celebs of the Telly Town to know more about their resolutions of this new financial year and their take on the rise in the service tax.

Mihika Verma, currently seen on Star plus' Ye Hai Mohabbatein  - So, far I haven't made any investments because I didn't feel the need of it. I am from Mumbai and live in my parents' house so I didn't feel the need of it. Now, I am planning to invest into some property or jewelry because now I have realized that I should grow up. It's good to invest into Gold and even if property is expensive but its investment is worthwhile. I am a prudent spender so I don't spend too much on anything. I want to cut down on my eating expenses. I go out a lot and eat.

I don't understand this hike on service tax. Honestly, I feel it's unnecessary. Everything is just getting more expensive and income opportunities are not stable.  

Kinshuk Mahajan, who is currently seen on Sony TV's Tum Aise Hi Rehna - We should always do our investments thinking about all the pros and cons. We should consult to a proper investment consultant before investing in anything. There is no point in investing in something that would result into a burden for you and you will suffer a loss in future. Proper research is needed to be done before making any investment. I have already invested into so many things so now I don't want to invest into anything. I spend a lot on technology. If anything new arrives in the market which can make my life easier then I go for buying it. I need to put a tab on it.

Increasing the tax is not a bad thing but make sure that it reaches towards a right direction. It should be utilized properly for the development and not go through the bad ways like corruption. It should reach to the market.     

Mugdha Chaphekar, who is seen on Zee TV's popular show Satrangi Sasural - I plan not to be a spendthrift that I am. This year I will try to cut down the expenses on unnecessary shopping that I keep doing every now and then. I so want the prices of fuel, make up and apparels go down. These are the only things that I shop for.

With this increase in service tax, all the industries will suffer; right from shopping to eating at a restaurant, the increase in service tax will be a burden on common man. I never understand the tax system in India.

Mohit Malik, who is currently seen on Zee TV's popular show Doli Armaanon Ki - I haven't been investing that much but now I am looking forward to invest into property which will give me good returns. I expense a lot on clothing and shoes as I love shoes but I will cut down my expenses on clothing and shoes as I have realized that I don't wear them that much as I keep them purchasing. I shop a lot for clothing and shoes and my wardrobe is filled. So, I will be careful while purchasing a lot of clothing and shoes for myself.

Taxes are too much right now. We get to pay a lot of taxes wherever we go but what we get in return is not fair for us.

Shrenu Parikh, who is currently seen on Star Plus’ Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon... Ek Baar Phir - I have never planned about my finances in my life. My Mom takes care of my finances. My Mom has just got Gold coins as an investment. I don’t interfere at all in the financial plannings made my by Mom. Whatever she would have thought, must be for good. I don’t have too much of expenses. Sometimes, our electricity bills become too much otherwise being a Banya by caste, I do take care of my expenses.

The service taxes have been increased and seeing the services taxes, I have actually cut down on the tips being given to the waiters (chuckles). Though the service taxes have been increased but I feel its for a bigger pictures ie for the development.
