Actress and Kuchupudi dancer Sandhya Raju, who has played the lead in short film "Natyam", about women empowerment, says the film's story will inspire all kinds of women.
Directed by debutant Revanth, the film is about a young, devoted married woman Kalyani's journey to realise her dream to become an accomplished Kuchupudi dancer amidst family conflict.
"I wanted to be a part of this brilliantly scripted short film by Revanth because the subject is very close to my heart as a Kuchupudi artiste.
"What I liked the most is that the narrative is centered on a woman's desire and a social question faced by most of all married woman in a thought-provoking manner," Sandhya told IANS.
"I felt the story will inspire women from all walks of life. They will all relate to my role in the film," she said.
Kirtilals Jewellers, a premium fine diamond and gold jewellery brand in India, with its extensive work supporting performing arts and promoting art and culture, have decided to lend their support to "Natyam".
The 40-minute film will be officially released in February.
