Bigg Boss 16 premiere was a grand affair to say the least.
The show is back with the sixteenth season and fans can’t keep calm for the roller coaster ride to begin. The line-up of this season is quite exciting with popular celebrities like Nimrit Kaur Alhuwalia, Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Ankit Gupta, Tina Datta, Shalin Bhanot among others.
Shalin Bhanot is a known name in the industry, he was a part of Star Plus’ reality show ‘Nach Baliye’ and went ahead to win the same. His name was involved in a controversy wherein his ex-wife Daljiet Kaur allegedly accused him of domestic violence. While their marriage ended, they continue to be cordial with each other and are loving parents to their son Jaydon. On the work front, Shalin has been a part of projects like Do Hanso Ka Joda, Suryaputra Karn, Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, Saath Phere among others.
India Forums got in touch with Shalin hours before getting into the controversial house and quizzed him about the show. Read the interview below:
Did you strategize your stay in the house or have you done any homework for the same?
Honestly, I’ve never done my homework ever (laughs). Even in my childhood, I was kind of a notorious kid and wouldn’t ever complete my homework. As far as Bigg Boss is concerned, I feel all kinds of strategies and homeworks would go down the drain. I believe in living in the moment and making the most of it. My motto in life is ‘Na Kal Ki Chinta or Na Kal Ki Pareshaani’ (Don’t worry for the future and don’t stress over the past). I hope, wish and pray that I go ahead in the game keeping this in mind.
What was your family’s reaction on the news of you taking up the show?
They didn’t bother much. They wished me luck and informed me that they’re going to be praying for me. They’ve left for Australia and will be enjoying their vacation but I know they’re blessings are with me always.
Are you up for a romantic angle in the show?
Not really! I always believe that love is a blessing from God and if He plans, things can happen but I’m not going with any agendas as such in my mind. I will shower love on all the girls and boys also for that matter as I believe in spreading love to everyone around me.

In a show like Bigg Boss, controversies related to the contestants often come out in the open. If your alleged controversy with ex-wife Daljiet Kaur would be talked about in the house, how will you deal with the same?
As I mentioned earlier, I live in the moment and for the moment! I will deal with it by not dealing with it in the first place. I’ve chosen to be quiet when the entire incident happened years ago and even today, my stance will be the same as I will not talk about what conspired. I believe I’m a blessed child and have immense love and support from my family.
We’ve seen you and Daljiet being cordial over the years. What was her and your son Jaydon’s reaction to the buzz?
Their wishes are with me. Infact, my last call was with Daljiet and she wished me luck for this new venture and Jaydon told me that he loves me. I’m wishing to meet them after stepping out of the house.
