Sony TV's "Barsatein-Mausam Pyaar Ka," featuring the dynamic duo of Shivangi Joshi and Kushal Tandon in lead roles, has been captivating audiences with its compelling storyline and the electrifying chemistry between the main characters. Shreya Dave, who skillfully portrayed the character of Kimaya, Aradhana's (Shivangi Joshi) step-sister, has witnessed a surge in popularity as the show progresses.
Recently, Shreya Dave bid farewell to her character as her track on the show concluded. India Forums exclusively reported this development, prompting us to reach out to the actress for insights into her departure and her perspective on the character's trajectory.
Did the conclusion of your character in the show catch you off guard when you received the information?
No, I was not informed about my character coming to an end. Nevertheless, it did not come as a shock to me. I believe that, at some point, the journey of this character in this story had reached its natural conclusion. I think, to introduce a twist in the story or to bring about a turning point, if a character has to end, it is acceptable. Whatever transpired with my character, I believe it was appropriate. My journey was a beautiful one.

Do you believe Kimaya’s storyline could have been better crafted?
From a viewer's perspective, I would say yes; she deserved a more favorable outcome. Kimaya deserved a fulfilling life with a good life partner, and her narrative could have taken a different turn if that had happened. However, as an actor, I would assert that whatever unfolded in my character's story was beautiful, and I wouldn't want to alter anything because I cherished every aspect of it.
What alternative ending would you give to Kimaya’s character?
If I were the show's writer, I would have scripted an ending for Kimaya in which, upon learning that Reyansh, similar to Angad, does not reciprocate her feelings, she would have chosen to walk away. Contrary to the belief that life cannot go on without love, Kimaya should have demonstrated strength and realized that it's acceptable not to rely on a man, emphasizing her independence as a strong woman. Shifting away from her constant need for validation, Kimaya should have been portrayed as someone capable of living on her own. On a personal note, I firmly believe that suicide is never a viable option; it is a cowardly act. I would advise everyone facing such challenges to communicate with their loved ones. Problems cannot be solved through suicide; it is an incorrect approach.
What do you miss the most about shooting for the show?
What I miss the most about filming for the show is the camaraderie with my on-screen sisters and Nausheen Ji. Our daily meetings, spending ample time together, engaging in conversations, collaborating on work, capturing moments in pictures, and creating videos – I will miss all these aspects. It's not that we won't meet in the future, but it's the absence of everyday interactions that I truly miss.
How do you see your career in the Indian television ahead? What kind of roles do you want to take up now?
I envision my future in Indian television as taking on the role of the next lead face or portraying a remarkable character. My goal is to undertake roles that bring both personal satisfaction as an actor and entertain the audience. Whether it's a positive lead or a potentially negative character, perhaps a vamp, I am open to exploring diverse roles. The future remains uncertain, but I am actively seeking a role that stands out. Making my husband and mother proud is a significant goal for me. My husband, Varun Parashar, is discerning and has high standards for me. He thinks I could have done better. I aim to exceed his expectations and make him proud in my television career.
