Music Review : Bang Bang

The album consist of four tracks and a reprise version all composed by the brilliant duo of Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani.

Director Siddharth Anand's upcoming action-thriller flick, Bang Bang is all set to hit theatres on 2nd October, 2014. Produced by Fox Star Studios, it is among the most anticipated films of the year, and features the unique pairing of the greek god Hrithik Roshan and the stunning beauty Katrina Kaif. For those who don't know yet, Bang Bang is the official remake of the Hollywood film Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. The album consist of four tracks and a reprise version all composed by the brilliant duo of Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. The movie has already created a buzz with its action-filled trailer, dialogue promos and now, BollyCurry is here with it's music review, to determine whether the album really managed to create a bang among the audience.

The album starts with "Tu Meri", an upbeat dance number which is high on energy, beats and instruments such as bass. The peppy number is sung and penned down by Vishal Dadlani, he takes the song several notches higher with his brilliant voice, and makes the completely groovy song his own. What really sets the song apart is the change in tempo of the song, which makes the song edgier, and makes it stand out in the whole album. However, if the song itself was not enough, Hrithik's flawless dance moves, they surely leave you swooning.

Next up is "Meherbaan", a beautiful romantic rendition. The guitar in the background is the first thing you hear, and it is utterly soothing to the ears. The lyrics, which are beautifully written by Anvita Dutt Guptan, are not bad either, but they pale in comparison to the background music. Ash King and Shilpa Rao who have lent their vocals to the song, fill the space well, and perform a remarkable job with the chorus of "Meherbaan Hua Hua... " where their voices blend together and create sparks. This romantic number also compliments the beautiful video of Kaif and Roshan romancing onscreen. Overall, the song creates a love binding effect with its soothing lyrics and soulful melodies.

"Meherbaan" also has an Unplugged Version sung by Shekhar Ravjiani. His silky voice takes the song to a completely new level, thus doing justice to each word that is being sung. Although the original version was slightly an edge better, the unplugged version takes the cake for us. It surely deserves a chance in your playlist.

"Uff", the upbeat number brings the voices of talented singers Benny Dayal and Harshdeep Kaur together. With the combination of various instruments such as the guitar, drums and harmonium, the song is upbeat, with quirky and naughty lyrics. Along with that, the audience witnesses Hardcore (Harshdeep Kaur) stepping aside from her usual sufi singing and embracing something new. However, even with all the glimmering, the song is just an average addition to the album, and doesn't seem as appealing.

The album winds up with the title song of the film, "Bang Bang". Sung by the soulful duo of Benny Dayal and Neeti Mohan, "Bang Bang" takes us back in time to the 80s disco era, which projects a retro theme. An upbeat number with eccentric rhythm, alongside the lyrics blending perfectly into the melody, this is definitely a combo of some good sassy dance number, hey!

All in all the album is dhamekadaar and creates the much desired bang within the audience as we see a few of its numbers ruling the music charts. With such brilliance in the music album, the wait for the movie's release is getting all the more tougher! Nevertheless, keep calm and run to a cinema near you on 2nd October 2014 to witness Bang Bang become the year's biggest hit. We at BollyCurry wish the entire team, good luck and lots of success for Bang Bang!
