Murshid: Tanuj Virwani shares his experience of working with Kay Kay Menon; gushes about his aura

Actor Tanuj Virwani will be seen on Zee5’s new show Murshid. It is about a dreaded gangster Murshid Pathan who has been exile but is forced to take up arms due to his friend turned foe, Farid. Shravan Tiwari is the director of the show. Tanuj Virwani shared his experience of working on Murshid. He said that the team shot only in real locations across Mumbai. Tanuj Virwani also spoke about how it was like working with Kay Kay Menon. The veteran is someone aspiring actors and even established ones have admired since years. Known for his onscreen intensity, Kay Kay Menon is a class apart. 

Tanuj Virwani said, “Kay Kay Menon is someone I always dreamed of working with. When you talking of acting greats, he is right at the top. Of course, when you work with him, you look for some kind of approval and validation. He has this strong aura around him. Kay Kay Menon Sir is loaded with charisma. I have watched and admired his movies like Black Friday, Corporate and more. He is one of those actors who do not need great dialogues to stand out. His eyes and voice do all the talking.” 

He further said he would be mostly in his character when he walked into the sets. “Watching him was quite overwhelming. He is one of those reserved kind of people. You see, a film set is full of chaos. When you see someone like him, you feel a sense of calm. And he commands respect in an effortless manner,” said Tanuj. 

Tanuj Virwani has worked with Shravan Tiwari before in Kamathipura. He said that while he was in the streets of Mumbai with the crew, a man approached him. It seems two people had been fighting and they thought he was a real cop. “I had to clarify that I am just in a get-up. I feel I might have done something right to get that reaction. It is always fun to work in the long story-telling format like web series. It is even better when your director puts together a dream cast,” he opined.
