Outline of the story: The movie is all about moral policing done by the politicians; the land issues faced by the farmers while our system just sits and watch!
Review:
Prakash Jha who is well known for undertaking such crucial topics in his movies depicted these problems in a very classic way. To do movies with such issues, he is the one who fits in the shoes and its evident from 'Jai Gangaajal'. It also depicts the frustration of the public towards such moral policing.
Politicians turn into 'Gundas', 'Land Mafias', etc and to ensure safety of the people appointment of a non corrupt police officer! Well, it all sounds like 'Vohi purani kahani' but even if it's the same old story the director has definitely pulled it out in his own way with some addition of action, drama and emotions!
After watching the series of events in the movie you will start feeling that the actual 'Hero' of the movie is not Priyanka Chopra but the corrupt police Officer B. N Singh played by Prakash Jha. Under the influence of Abha Mathur played by Priyanka Chopra, a newly appointed first female S.P of 'Baankipur', he turns into a good guy. By this change of heart he starts undoing and fixing things which he destroyed earlier.
'Abha' was aware of the whole scenario of the district. Her quick action brings a new hope in the people of Bankipur.
Talking about Priyanka's acting: it seems she completely got into the skin of her character and showcased herself as a fearless and brave officer.
Manav Kaul, what to say! He plays the character of 'Babloo Pandey', a corrupt 'Vidhayak' of Bankipur district. A first class performance!
Ninad Kamat plays the role of Dabloo Pandey, brother of Babloo and he too fits in that character perfectly!
Murli Sharma plays a eunuch henchman of Babloo Pandey, but the plum role is served for the director.
Rahul Bhat plays an IITian turned social activist who raises his voice when the public takes matters into its own hands.
The action sequences are accompanied by rousing songs bemoaning the lousy state of affairs.
Well in the end, with the same old story and Prakash Jha's direction also not to forget the background music the movie is worth watching!
Overall rating: *** [Three star]

Just finished watching it. It was an average movie. Not as great as expected. Ajay Devgan's Gangaajal was better.
