Mohsin Khan opens up about health struggles: Fatty liver and heart attack revelations

Mohsin Khan, renowned for his role as Kartik in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, recently shared some startling details about his health struggles over the past year. The actor disclosed that he had suffered a mild heart attack and was dealing with a serious case of fatty liver disease.

During a conversation with Pinkvilla, Khan explained the severity of his condition. "Fatty liver hoh gaya tha, toh last year I had a mild heart attack and maine bataya nai. Aur bahut zyada badh gaya tha. I was admitted for some time. Phir eljaz wagera hua. 2-3 hospital change kiye humne. But it is now controlled, mashallah," he revealed. 

(I developed a fatty liver, which led to a mild heart attack last year. I didn't share this with anyone at the time, and my condition worsened significantly. I was hospitalized for a period, and we had to change hospitals 2-3 times for treatment. Thankfully, everything is now under control.)

Khan also shared that his health issues have had a lingering impact on his overall well-being. Despite his recovery, he noted that his immunity has been compromised, leading to frequent illnesses. 

When asked about the cause of his fatty liver, Khan described it as a condition that can arise even without alcohol consumption. "Pata nai, it is called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, alcohol bina piye bhi aapko fatty liver hoh sakta hai. Par woh pata nai hoh jata hai, maybe hum sleep pattern sahi nai hai. Woh hua tha," he said. 

(I don't know. It's called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. You can develop a fatty liver even without consuming alcohol. It can happen without you realizing it, possibly due to poor sleep patterns. That's what happened in my case.)

The 32-year-old actor's openness about his health struggles comes as a surprise to many fans who have closely followed his career. Known for his beloved portrayal of Kartik Goenka in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Khan captivated audiences with his chemistry with Shivangi Joshi, who played Naira. His performance in the series made him a household name, and even years after his departure from the show in 2021, he is still widely recognized as Kartik.
